Here's an easy, unique Halloween project for your kids. Make a square pumpkin from wooden building blocks. And don't stop at making our version,create your own square pumpkin from a set of wooden blocks. Read on for easy to follow instructions and make something "boo"tiful.

Small Basic Blocks-(4)4", (1)6", (3)8"
Large Basic Blocks-(2)2", (10)4", (10)6"
Window Blocks-(2)2"single hole, (1)triple hole

Make the square shape of your pumpkin. Use (2)2" large blocks placed flat on their long sides for the
front. Then the left and right sides will each be made of (4)4" large blocks standing on end. The back
side will have (2)4" large blocks with a small 4" block in the middle.

On the left, right and back side repeat the pattern only stack 6" wooden blocks on top of your base. Leave the
front side open. So you will use (10) large 6" wooden building blocks and (1)6" small block.

STEP 3-MAKE YOUR PUMPKIN'S MOUTH
On the front side of the square place an arch with the curved part facing up. Then place a 4" small block
on the top.

STEP 4-MAKE THE PUMPKIN'S NOSE
In order to make a triangle space for the nose use (2) rhombus and (2)4" small blocks.
The easies way to place these is to put the rhombus so their longest side touch each
other and hold them in your hand like this. Then balance them on their tips carefully
placing them in the center on top of the mouth. Then add the 4" blocks on each side.
This is a little tricky, might need mom to help you.

STEP 5-MAKE THE PUMPKIN'S EYES
On top of the nose balance a 2" single hole window block (the one with the holes in them) on each side.
They will initially tip but then add the 4" square post block lying on top of the eyes and it should hold
them straight. But if not your pumpkin will just be a little googly eyed! More creative!

STEP 6-MAKE THE TOP OF YOUR PUMPKIN
Take the (3)8" small blocks and the triple hole window block and lay them flat on top of your pumpkin
as shown below.
Note if you want to light up your pumpkin place a small light inside before you add the top.

STEP 7-ADD THE STEM
Lastly give your pumpkin a stem by putting the 4" column into the center hole of the triple window.

And there you have your
WOODEN BLOCKS SQUARE PUMPKIN!
